Boutique 44 is a women’s lifestyle boutique in Maryland that currently operates online. The concept came to life in March 2016, when owner, Amanda Gill, found a historic space available at Wyndhurst Station. Amanda had been searching for a storefront to open her dream boutique for quite sometime. She fell in love with the charm of the original hardwood floors, bay windows, and spacious floor plan of the former train station by the Stony Run Trail. At the end of June 2017, Amanda decided that it was time to relocate Boutique 44. As she searches for a new storefront, Boutique 44 will be launching online shopping.
Boutique 44 has been inspired by the southern influence of Charleston, SC. and the chic elegance of Parisian boutiques.
It’s all in a name. In numerology, 44 refers to business and specifically building something for future generations. Amanda’s entrepreneurial spirit was developed at a young age, thanks to a family of Maryland based business owners. Amanda’s grandfather started the Village Sub Shop pizza chain in Baltimore during the 1950s. 44 was his lucky number. In the search for a name, Amanda hoped that 44 would bring her luck as it did her grandfather.
We strive to find unique brands. No one wants to see themselves coming and going. We buy in limited quantities and regularly receive new arrivals.
We love local artisans. Many of our lines come from Baltimore based designers, as well as other independent designers located on the East Coast.
